This trip was in a awesome location. Arriving at the car park at about 3 in the morning, we had a half an hour walk in, followed by acrobatics on the wire rope bridge. The hut is basic but makes it all the more fun to stay there.

On the Saturday, Matt took some new people on an ardous bagging expedition, to make sure they wouldn't come back again. The rest of us had a great clockwise day on the Ring of Steall. There's wasn't enough ice about to make it hairy - we didn't have to use our crampons. In the second half of the day the clouds cleared occasionaly to give us some good views, but it wasn't the clear day we had been forecast. Coming down was the least sucessful part of the walk, as it got steeper than we bargained for.

On the Sunday, I went up Aonach Beag and Aonach Mor alone. The summit of Aonach Beag was a overhanging ice cornice, and the cairn was buried. I didn't go too near the edge! The clouds spent the whole day at about 5000ft, and as a result there were some great views of the Ben.

James, Matt, Al, and Nick went to try and climb a grade 2/3 ice climb on Aonoch Beag, but bit off more than they could chew. James took a tumble, and from all accounts was lucky not to be seriously hurt. Other people went for a scramble or a bimble.

I wasn't there but the trip sounded awesome. -- Gaff

We mounted the ring (of Steall) and spent a lovely day pounding away. Some excellent views of the ring towards the end of the day.
Bad jokes aside, it was a brilliant meet with all the ingredients to make it a classic - bad jokes, Matt's cooking, near death experiences, a rope bridge, graded overtaking... -- JR
