A rainy week made for a lot of climbing, bimbling and shopping, with the odd heroic antics thrown in...

On the first night, Matt Rose discovered that Franco's tent wasn't really up to the task, and ended up inside his Goretex bivvi bag inside the tent. Franco had wisely found another tent to stay in! Matt Rose went out the next day and spent 450 on an indestructible Terra Nova.

Following the directions of a drunk local gameskeeper ('whhhhat, you came to Skye without bringing a gun?!') in a pub one night, a group of us went on a Sea Eagle chase, although it turned out to be more of a wild goose chase. We did however, find the land of small miracles - the amazing upwards waterfall, and the floating grass.

One group, led by the two Matts decided that they were so bored of the weather on Skye that they would do a 600 mile round trip to bag the most northy munro, Ben Hope.

By the end of the week, Chris Drew and Dave Hilton decided that they weren't going to let a bit of poor weather deter them any longer, and so went out and completed the ridge in an epic 44hrs (setting a time to be beaten in the future) getting very wet, with two nights spent out, and a support team consisting of Gaff not being able to find them in cloud and so sleeping in a survival bag although he was only a few metres away from their tent. The state of Dave's feet afterwards was a sight to see.

Bryony's Boyfriend Dave kindly went to supervise Jim and Franco's cliff climbing on the last day, to make sure they didn't get killed, as they had no idea what the were doing!

All in all, fun was had, but we hope for better weather in 2004.
