Hi, I am Brannock, the MPS meet sec.

I have been walking and climbing for a few years now. I started walking in North Wales before learning to rock climb, since then I have moved towards the bigger mountains in Scotland and the Alps, but still keep up the rock climbing, mostly on the peak district gritstone, but love a bit of the limestone (Pembroke is awesome! but lacks any mountains)

Favourite climbs

Valkyrie at the Roaches lower tier, technical lower pitch on a belay on a big block, followed by the big step across on the hidden foothold everyone knows about. Made particularly memorable by having to rescue Ben Jeffrey our glorious president when got a bit scared on the belay, by abseiling down to him (it was a pretty worrying move and I was tired - Ben J).

Cioch west, corrie lagon, Skye, long severe, some tricky route finding, great position and a great day in the sun.

Misty Mountain Hop, Cambridge crag, Bowfell, my first grade IV winter route, tricky mixed climbing start, long section of III in the middle then a tricky finish pulling over on giant flakes.

Traverse of the Courtes, outside Chamonix in the Mount Blanc massif, long route and a long day, left my shattered but satisfied.

This (10-11) is my fourth year in the club and I have really enjoyed it so far, heres to a winter like the last one!
