----Summer: The Isle of Skye
The Skye trip is an annual trip, acting as a perfect end to the year. Skye is perhaps the most picuresque part of Scoland, with mountains that rival the Alps in stature.
We’ll be camping by the beach in Glen Brittle, situated at the south end of the island next to the Cuillin. In the main part this is an 8 mile long, knife-edge ridge with 11 munro’s along its length. Most of the summits require a degree of scrambling to get to and the there are several classic rock climbs on all the peaks. Perhaps the most famous mountain is the In Pinn (the Innacessible Pinancle) which you will no doubt have to do if you come: Reaching the top of this Munro involves an unnnavoidable (but very easy) 60m climb, followed by a 20m abseil to get off the summit.
Skye also has some excellent swimming to offer, including the sea, rivers in Glens but most notably the fairy pools, including a natural rock bridge and plunge pool.
Don't forget to save some of your student loan for this one!
