Glenridding

Please feel free to add your contributions...

Q: Can ANYONE actually run in 110mph wind and driving rain?
A: Evidently many OMM competitors could not, yet the legend that is Chris Burn was sighted daintily jogging along Striding Edge on the morning of 25th October 2008 as if there was no wind at all!...

Q: What happens to Ullswater when there is too much rain and strong winds?
A: It floods of course! Submerging roads in feet of water on which large waves can form.

Q: Is Helvelynn the windiest place in the Lake District?
A: I really don't know but it felt like it could have been...

Q: Where is the nearest (and weirdest) hospital to Glenridding?
A: Penrith. There are no doctors or ambulances, and waiting times are very short!! Although TOMTOM had no idea, further evidence that satnav is not as useful as a good bit of local knowledge.

Q: How many cups of tea are in a pot for one?
A: Three of course, what a silly question. Although quite why we will never know....

Q: Who thinks Jack Daniels is a good whiskey?
A: The barman in the Travellers Rest, what a wierdo.

Q: Who thinks Jack Daniels is a poor whiskey?
A: Me,...

Q: Fish and Chips from The Litte Chippy, or Burger King from Knutsford services?
A: Is that really a question worth asking?

Q: Shouldn't Glenridding be in Scotland?
A: It's a way of pretending to go to Scotland

Q: How long does it take to get bored of flashing orange lights on top of the van?
A: Evidently longer than a weekend...
