Ed, Al, Jim and Paul, went to La Grave for a weeks Ice Climbing
I'm currently bored so i thought i would write a few things, but i'm not that bored so i won't write very much. (if i did write a lot you wouldn't read it anyway!)
Needless to say we stood out like a sore thumb on the way out as we were the only people on hte plane not going skiing. jim and paul got an earlier flight and collected the car, ed and al not only got a late flight, but landed even later than intended, then got locked out of the terminal building on hte runway, cos the french were too disorganised to realise a plane had just landed!!
In a whirl of reckless spending frenzy we had decided to get a top of the range Hyundai Sante fe 4x4, so you would have thought we wouldn't have to worry about the ice and snow, but jim still managed to skid around several corners, and yet the fiat panda following us seem to have no trouble, despite being top heavy with skis, and looking lik it was about to fail its MOT.
Unsuprisingly Ice Climbing involves you getting cold at various points in the day, but there's no better way to warm you up than wading through waste deep fresh powder to get to the bottom of mystery ice falls for several hours. In fact the first day we spent so long trying to get to the bottom of the ice fall that by the time we got there we didn't have time to climb it! We ahd now blazed a masive trail up the side of hte mountain now. Thus day two was the return, reaching the bottom of the icefall in record time (i think a man on crutches could have beaten the previous time), leaving us plenty of time to climb the ice fall numerous times, in many imaginative ways as possible.
Right i'm bored now so time to go....
