This was the first meet after MPS was formed, although as it didn't use a minibus, and wasn't really advertised outside the founders' Ramsoc circles, the Summer 1990 meet is often refered to as the first official MPS meet.
There were 8 of us, the five committee members, two first-years and a Ramsoc oldie, packed into two cars. We met up in Glen Nevis hostel, headed up to the Cluanie Inn and walked in to Glen Affric, someone collecting some frogsporn from a puddle on the way, which was later poured into Colin's placky boots that evening when he wasn't looking.
We stayed in the closed-but-not-locked Youth Hostel, with its little wooden outhouse toílet. There were some pretty serious winter conditions up in the mountains, and we had a mega bumslide down one, with fluffy powder snow ontop of a smooth icy underlayer. We rocketed down, with the powder half-blinding, and half-suffocating us.
Then back out to Ratagan Hostel, and the Forcan ridge on the Saddle for some.
